deep tissue massage
I combine Deep Tissue, Soft Tissue Release and Neuromuscular techniques in my therapeutic oil massage. Problem areas, such as deep-seated muscular tension, stiffness and muscle injuries, are addressed thoroughly and effectively with Deep Tissue massage. According to individual preferences, the massage can use either smooth, flowing movements with varying degrees of pressure to promote a deeply relaxing treatment or can employ Swedish massage techniques to have an invigorating effect.
Indian head massage
Based on ancient Ayurvedic healing techniques, this is a wonderfully relaxing treatment working on the head, neck, shoulders, upper arms and face. It uses classical Swedish massage techniques and is carried out through clothing with the receiver sitting in a chair. It is extremely beneficial for relieving stress and tension and promoting a sense of calm and well-being. In addition it provides relief for many types of ailments, including headaches, muscular tension, sinusitis, tinnitus and eyestrain.
traditional Thai massage (Nuad Bo Rarn)
Thai massage works on the life force or energy pathways that circulate around the body. Occasionally these pathways or ‘Sen’ can become blocked, resulting in aches, pains and disease on both physical and emotional levels.
A thorough Thai Massage treatment covers the main Ten Sen, opening and balancing the whole body, releasing blocked energy and improving general well-being.
The treatment is given with the receiver wearing loose, comfortable clothing and lying on a soft mat on the floor. Slow rhythmic movements gently entice the body into a relaxed state. Thumb, palm, elbow, knee and foot pressure are used to free tension held in the body, combined with gentle twists and applied yoga postures such as Plough, Cobra and reclining Bound Angle pose. Stretches and movements are always gradual and given within the limits of the receiver.
Please note: Thai massage treatments are a minimum of one hour but a longer treatment will allow a thorough balancing of the body.
